Delivery
If you're buying Christmas presents from us this year [and we hope you are!] you should bear the following 'order deadlines' in mind to enable us to deliver your goodies before Christmas Day:
UK Mainland customers must place their order(s) by 12pm on December 19th for the best possible chance of standard pre-Christmas delivery.
However, UK Mainland customers who purchase an Express Delivery upgrade (to a 'next-day' service) can order up until 12pm on December 23rd and still receive their parcel in time (on the next working day following dispatch).
Overseas customers (that's everyone outside the UK mainland) need to contact us - before ordering - if they require pre-Christmas delivery.
International orders placed via our website (without contacting us beforehand) are now, unfortunately, unlikely to arrive before Christmas Day.
Please be aware that, while we'll do absolutely everything we can to get your gifts to you before Christmas Day, the above order deadlines have been suggested to us by third-party carriers (Royal Mail, APC Roadlink, DHL etc).
This means that we can't guarantee that all orders placed close to Christmas will arrive in time (unless Express Delivery is selected).
We can't take responsibility for unavoidable delays or late deliveries, so we urge you to place your order(s) as early as you can to avoid disappointment!
We dispatch exciting lighting orders, for both UK and global delivery, from
our base in Bournemouth, England. We always make sure your purchases
are picked efficiently, packaged securely and posted to you as quickly as
possible.
Our delivery charges vary according to the size, weight and value of the product(s)
ordered. We've created a tiered pricing system that works out well for
customers buying individual items, but also calculates worthwhile discounts
for people purchasing more than one product.
The delivery charge for your order will be clearly displayed on the 'Shopping
Basket' page of our website, before you proceed to the 'Checkout' page. The
default delivery destination is 'United Kingdom' so, if you're ordering from
outside the UK, make sure you select your country from the drop-down list
in order to calculate the correct delivery charge. Please note: the delivery
charge covers packaging, handling and materials, as well as actual shipping
costs.
Please be aware that the below-stated delivery timescales are estimates based
on experience and 3rd-party companies' guidelines (Royal Mail etc).
Orders can take longer to arrive during busy periods (e.g. pre-Christmas and
New Year). You should purchase from Electric Planet early enough to
prevent any loss or disappointment resulting from a slower-than-expected delivery
service since we cannot be responsible for this.
Electric Planet delivers everywhere within the UK, and to an ever-increasing number of overseas destinations, as standard. We also quote for delivery to those countries and territories not currently included on our latest international country list. Delivery methods used are based on the size, weight and value of orders.
Mainland UK orders are usually sent by Royal Mail's 1st Class Recorded service. Heavier and more valuable orders may be sent via our UK couriers, APC Roadlink. Mainland UK orders generally take 1 to 3 working days to arrive.
Delivery to the UK Highlands and islands can take slightly longer (approximately 2-4 working days) to arrive and may incur additional charges.
We ask that customers from these regions contact us prior to ordering.
International orders are sent either via Royal Mail's AirMail services or by international courier (DHL or UPS). Delivery methods used are based on the size, weight and value of orders. European orders generally take approximately 3-5 working days to arrive. International orders to destinations outside the EU generally take approximately 3-7 working days to arrive.
Electric Planet orders are generally sent via 'recorded' delivery services that require a signature on receipt and operate between 9am and 5pm on weekdays. Please bear this in mind when placing your order, and be sure to specify a delivery address where someone reliable will be able to sign for your parcel between these hours - your work address, if necessary.
N.B. Please ensure that the Billing Address you specify is the exact address that your credit or debit card is registered to - not necessarily your delivery address. If your Billing Address does not match your card details, your order may be significantly delayed, or it may not be possible for us to process it at all.
Also, if you plan to order from Electric Planet in any other way than online via a credit or debit card (e.g. by cheque, postal order or bank transfer), please contact us for details of the delivery charge before sending your payment. For more information about payments, click here.
Please note: we do not currently offer a local collection service. All orders will be posted until further notice.
When time is of the essence, we suggest that our UK customers select an Express Delivery option by adding one of our 'UK Express Delivery Upgrades' to their basket before checking out. We currently offer two Express Delivery services: UK Next Day By 5.30pm (standard delivery + £3.99) and UK Next Day By 9am (standard delivery + £3.99). See below for details.
Express Delivery is not currently available to customers outside the UK mainland. However, customers that need a faster-than-standard service can contact us and we'll try to help, if we can.
Please note that all Express Delivery charges are 'upgrades' and are additional to the standard delivery charge.
Orders upgraded to Express Delivery receive priority handling and dispatch, and are sent by a 'next-day' delivery service. Express Delivery orders are dispatched on the day of ordering, subject to stock availability and standard security checks, providing that orders are placed before 12pm.
Please note: your Express Delivery upgrade must be purchased at the same time as your order. Please ensure you provide us with a valid contact telephone number at time of ordering. This will not be used for any purpose other than to inform you of urgent issues regarding your order or relating to its delivery.
Two Express Delivery services are currently available to mainland UK customers. These are selectable from the drop-down list on our 'UK Express Delivery Upgrade' page and should be added to your basket in the same manner as products:
UK Next Day By 5.30pm - £3.99
This service is available Monday to Thursday (excluding bank holidays) and will ensure your order arrives at your specified delivery address before 5.30pm (and usually earlier) on the next working day after dispatch - on the day after your purchase if we receive your order before 12pm, and the following working day, if not. A signature will be required on receipt.
UK Next Day By 9am - £9.99
This service is available Monday to Thursday (excluding bank holidays) and will ensure your order arrives at your specified delivery address by 9am on the next working day after dispatch - on the day after your purchase if we receive your order before 12pm, and the following working day, if not. A signature will be required on receipt.
N.B. While we don't currently offer a UK upgrade for Express Delivery on Saturdays as standard, please contact us if you require this service and we will provide a customised quote and do our best to help.

We are quickly expanding our global reach and we frequently review our standard delivery destinations and our international delivery charges, adding new countries periodically. However, if you wish to place an Electric Planet order and your location doesn't appear in the above list, please use the form, below, to request a quotation (including delivery) for the goods you require.
Once we've processed your request, we'll email you a quotation detailing the applicable charges and the methods of payment available to you. Please note: the quotation is legally non-binding - we can't guarantee that items will remain available and, accordingly, you can cancel or change your mind up until your actual order is placed and payment has been taken.
Please note that while items sent via Royal Mail services usually arrive within 1-3 working days for mainland UK orders, 2-4 working days for UK Highlands & islands orders, 3-5 working days for orders to Europe and 3-7 working days for orders to outside the EU, the Royal Mail stipulates that only items still not delivered after 15 working days can be officially classified as lost.
Once an order has been dispatched, delivery is handled by a 3rd party company (Royal Mail or Courier). While we will do our best to investigate and resolve any delivery problems, we cannot accept liability for delays caused by external companies beyond our reasonable control.
Nor can we accept responsibility for delivery problems when a customer has provided us with an incorrect or incomplete delivery address. Please carefully check your 'Order Confirmation' email, and inform us immediately if there are any errors or omissions in the delivery details.
Should you happen to miss your delivery, the postman or courier will leave you a card enabling you to rearrange delivery or to collect your package from your local depot or sorting office. In this event, please contact the Royal Mail or the relevant courier company before contacting us since we have no control over parcels in transit. It is your responsibility to contact the courier in a timely manner. Failure to collect an undelivered package can result in it being 'returned to sender' (usually after 7 days). This is Royal Mail/courier policy, not ours. If this happens, we cannot resend the parcel without charging a supplementary delivery charge.
If a package is returned to us because it has not been collected, or because the delivery company has not been contacted, we will only refund the amount of the order less all packaging and delivery costs. Packages sent by courier will incur both an outward and return delivery charge. The additional charge for a returned package by courier is currently £4.00 + VAT.
Please be aware that deliveries to destinations outside the EU may be subject to local import taxes, which are your responsibility where they apply. When this is the case, the delivery company should advise you of the charges due.
You should be able to learn more from your local customs office. We cannot advise you what these charges may be and Electric Planet is not responsible for them.
