40W spare / replacement bulb for the Mathmos Astro lava lamp.

This 40 watt clear 'golf ball' SES light bulb is suitable for all Mathmos Astro lava lamps, past and present.

Mathmos no longer supply the old Astro bulbs with reflector bases.  Their testing demonstrated that the chromed bulbs occasionally caused lava bottles to overheat.

This is the bulb supplied with all new Mathmos Astro lava lamps.  These non-reflective bulbs apparently "improve lava flow performance, ensure lava bottles last longer and create a better lighting effect in the lamps' bases".

We also stock Replacement Astro Bottles in all current Mathmos colour combinations.  Revamp your old lamp or try a brand new colour scheme - without buying a whole new lavalamp!

• In order to prolong lava quality it's not advisable to continuously heat lava for more than 7 hours at a time
