Each AAA (aka LR03) is a 1.5V alkaline battery containing 0% mercury and 0% cadmium (that's a good thing, by the way). Each AA (aka LR6) is also a 1.5V alkaline battery, and also bad-metal-free. Both AA and AAA batteries come in packs of four.
